Apartment Bathroom Decor Ideas & Tips
#1 Keep It Light & Bright
Good lighting plays a huge role in a small bathroom. Typically, apartment bathrooms are super small. That’s why when decorating your apartment bathroom, you’ll need to think about keeping the space light and bright. Adding in bright or lighter colors will make the space look bigger and feel more open.
When choosing a shower curtain, bathmats and decor pieces keep this in mind. You don’t need to choose all white or all neutral. It can be fun and match your style better to add in fun and bright pops of color.
This is the waffle textured shower curtain I have from Amazon. I have it in the bright white color because when I had a warm cream colored shower curtain before, it always felt like it was not as clean after a while.
I have it paired with this grey bathmat that is SOOO comfortable! Also, don’t get a white bathmat, it looks so nice to begin with but it gets gross looking so fast.
*A big tip on having things feel light and bright – having some fresh air coming from the windows or keeping the fan on in the bathroom can really take the stuffiness out of the small space! I also have a free cleaning schedule below so you’ll be able to manage cleaning on a consistent basis without feeling overwhelmed.
#2 Peel and Stick
Peel and stick products are a pretty simple and fun way to upgrade your space. Don’t be afraid to go bold in a small bathroom, stick to one accent wall to avoid overwhelming the room. In your bathroom, you want to make sure you get a product that can withstand moisture, and one that will not cause damage when removing.
You can find tool kits, like this one for just $5! These help to ensure perfect lines and bubble free, smooth application.
You can create a fun new backsplash or keep it simple with a great quality faux subway tile.
You could also add a contact paper to your countertops for a quick and affordable faux marble look.
Options are becoming endless in the world of peel and stick.
#3 Shower Curtain Hacks
Get creative with the way you hang your shower curtain to make a big statement in your space.
Add in a liner like normal to avoid getting any water outside the shower. Then try out different ways you can hang your shower curtains to create a more luxe feel and elevate your bathroom space.
You can add in another shower curtain rod along the ceiling and hang a longer shower curtain to draw the eye up and make your apartment bathroom appear larger.
Try adding two shower curtains for an even more sophisticated look, hang them as high as you can and have them split in the middle.
#4 Electrical Tape to Frame your Mirrors.
Do you have a bathroom mirror that isn’t framed out? This hack went around for a while, and I absolutely love it!
Grab some black electrical tape and carefully tape the edges of your mirror. This will give a quick and simple framed look to your mirror. A simple upgrade to your apartment bathroom that is easy to remove once you are ready to move out.
