I love everything about fall, so of course, DIY fall decor ! What better way to start the season than making these easy and affordable DIY Dollar Tree projects.
When decorating for the seasons I love to do DIY projects.
It allows me to be able to have fun new decor every year.
Sometimes it can be tough to find enough items at a Dollar Tree. They have a huge selection, but it’s always changing, and no two Dollar Trees actually have the exact same stuff! It’s like a treasure hunt every time you go in.

With a little paint, glue, and a great vision you can create some amazing fall decor pieces!
Doing it this way they’re only a fraction of what it would cost you anywhere else.
I put together 2 amazing fall decor projects for only $21! I will break down the cost of each project, as well as the materials used for these amazing fall decor DIY projects.
Dollar Tree DIY Fall Decor Item #1 – Total $10
I wanted to create a floral centerpiece for the table. I wanted two vases with a good size arrangement on a cute fall stand. The Dollar Tree had some great florals to choose from for the season. I picked five stems to fill the vases.
For the vases, I wanted to create something unique. For this project I wanted a more rustic look. I choose two large mason jars.
Then I decided to go with 2 coats of white paint (which unfortunately I did the night before and forgot to snap a before picture). I liked how the two coats looked, if you want a more modern look I would recommend 3-4 coats. Two gave it more of an old rustic look that I was going for.
For the stand, I found two super cute signs with a great buffalo check pattern. They also had black and white, but I liked the colors of these for fall.
I hot glued them together on one side. Then I went with black paint on the top for better contrast with the white vases.
They also had small ceramic pumpkins that were already super cute! I put a green on in between the vases.
Dollar Tree DIY Fall Decor #2- Total $11
I wanted another great centerpiece item, which now I have in the kitchen. But we are in the middle of up-cycling an amazing TV stand (Which you will get to see next week!). I may decide to move this onto the TV stand once it is finished.
Also, I wanted to create a cozy stand full of florals and fall accents. For this I picked up a small baking pan, an empty condiment bottle, and a small plastic paint.
But, I would recommend adding something a bit more supportive in the middle, but I searched everywhere for a center pole and this was all I could find at the time.
For the trays I wanted a light gray paint, I didn’t like the gray paint they had( I went to Dollar General and bought $1 paint jars!).
I mixed white and black to create my own shade.
For the plate and pan I used 2 coats of paint, and one on the condiment bottle. As I was doing the second coat on the pan and plate I glued burlap all around the condiment bottle. For this I overlapped the edges a bit, you could line them up of you preferred but I loved the overlapped look.
I then glued the bottle onto the pan and plate.
Two branches were enough for this project, but I decided to cut off each piece to arrange them better.
Also I picked up a small lantern, another ceramic pumpkin, pumpkin scented candle, and this cute $2 pillow from dollar general.
I can’t believe how amazing this turned out for the cost! This would look amazing in all areas of the home.
I also picked up two larger pumpkins that I will be painting. Unfortunately I didn’t have enough paint this time, so I will have to be back to update this once they are finished! I also got a cute leaf bowl that I will be using to keep treats out and a small burlap pumpkin.
In total these DIY fall decor projects only took roughly an hour. While one I was drying from a coat of paint I would work on the other. This was a great way to save time! I did these projects during my daughter’s nap time.

These DIY Dollar Tree projects didn’t require much, but I had nothing in the new apartment to be able to do these. A lot of you will most likely have something on this list laying around.
I couldn’t find my hot glue gun after moving, so I purchased another at Dollar General. They had one for $6 and $3. The more expensive one was a lot larger and of course had regular-sized glue sticks. This is why I choose to spend a bit more on this. However, if you want to save a few bucks, I’ve used the more inexpensive one before. They work well for the money!
The hot glue gun in total cost $10
I picked up 3 small dollar tubs of paint from Dollar General. I haven’t used brown yet. To finish painting the other pumpkins around the house I will need one more bottle of white. For the main two projects, one white and black is plenty.
They also had a small pack of paint brushes with two sponges. It cost $3. They were sold out of just about all their painting supplies. So, I don’t know what else they would have available. I only used the sponges in the pack.
Cost of paint and brushes $6
And that’s all! Use these ideas as inspiration and adapt them based on what you can find. Mix and match, repurpose, and let your imagination run wild!
