Keeping a clean and organized home can be tough and overwhelming! Many of us face fairly busy lives and maintaining a consistent cleaning schedule can often end up at the bottom of our never-ending to-do lists.
Having a cleaner home can help you be more productive throughout your day. It can make your days go by easier with everything being ready to go in its place. But keeping it clean can be challenging, especially when many of us are facing more family members being home.
Having a consistent cleaning schedule that breaks up the load into multiple makes daily cleaning a faster process! Keeping everything in a good rotation to be sure to keep up on every space. Plus always keep track of the last time you did that task that you don’t do every day.
Hang a copy of your cleaning schedule on your fridge or another area you see everyday to make sure you’re more likely to stay on top of things, most of the time.
Cause, let’s be honest this still won’t make us perfect. But it will make it less overwhelming and easier to jump back on track if something comes up!

Step 1: Create a list of daily tasks
The first step of your schedule is to know what needs to be done daily. Doing the dishes, a load of laundry, taking out the trash, etc. Write down everything that gets done in your household daily. It is important to practice daily habits that helps in keeping your home clutter-free.
If you have older children or you designate chores with your spouse you can find fun ways to personalize your cleaning schedule. Get highlighters or coloured pens and write everyone’s tasks in a different colour!
These tasks can include dishes, doing a load of laundry, wiping down countertops, taking out trash, and sweeping the floors.
Step 2: Note chores that need to be done every couple of days
Now you’re going to do the same thing, but this time with all of your chores that can be done every few days.
This will vary depending on everyone. Some examples are mopping or vacuuming, wiping down bathroom surfaces, or dusting.
Think about your home room by room and think of tasks you would like to get done every few days and write them down on different days as you go! Make sure you write down to repeat these tasks in a few days.

Weekly Chores
Now come the weekly chores. Again depending on the size and activity level of all households, these things are different for everyone.
Some chores you may do weekly could be washing windows, dusting trim and photos, cleaning under beds and other furniture, weekly organization, and more.
Follow along with your worksheet and pick a day that you know would fit into your schedule to do each of these chores!
Monthly Chores
Certain things around your home may only need to be done once per month. These items can be harder to remember when it was done last if you don’t keep track!
These chores can include deep cleaning appliances, scrubbing walls and cabinets, scrubbing tile grout, and more depending on your home and family!
