Declutter Regularly
The first step in organizing any space is to declutter. It will be much easier to get your entire space organized if you have less stuff to work with.
Go through each room in your home and get rid of anything you don’t need or haven’t used in the past year.
You can donate unwanted items or even sell them online to make a little extra money! Once you’ve sorted through everything, it’ll be much easier to organize what’s left.

Apartment Closet Organization
Closet space is where we store most of our items but, in apartments, these can be pretty tight spaces.
To ensure you are making the most out of your closet space, you want to create the most organization.
Linen Closet
Keep your linen closet organized to ensure you get the most out of your space.
Keep items used daily in the middle shelves to allow for the easiest access. Use the top shelf for extra household storage, such as extra toiletries, paper products and light bulbs.
Use the bottom space to store larger items or find baskets that fit under the bottom shelf to keep items stored more efficiently and aesthetically pleasing.
Bedroom Closets
to keep your bedroom closet as organized as possible, a good idea is to only keep out the current season’s clothing items. This will help things be less cluttered and easier to find.
There are a few options to store away out-of-season clothes, if you have more space available you can store bins in your closet. If you have less space to work with you can opt for under-the-bed storage or even vacuum-sealed clothing storage bags to minimize the space these items take up!
Storage Closet
Depending on the size of your closet, you may be fortunate to have an extra closet aside from the bedrooms and linen closet. Use this space wisely!
In my apartment, I have a large coat closet where I store our larger winter coats during the winter season when they are not being stored away, as well as a tall shoe rack to minimize the space it takes up on the floor while still getting optimal storage space for shoes. I also choose to use this space for seasonal decor, and larger items such as my daughter’s stroller.
And of course, organization is key! Make sure to keep any storage bins labeled or color-coordinated for easy access and less clutter.
Kitchen Organization
Apartment kitchens usually lack in storage, so creating great organization will make sure you get the most out of what you have to work with.
